How a holiday idea became your favorite product
A little anecdote: The doormat originally started as a holiday project by a future Stuff Bubble employee 🤩
What started as a crazy idea became a real product – and at CMT, we saw with our own eyes how much you love the mat. Rightly so, we think. For that, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The ingenious 3-layer principle
Forget conventional doormats where dirt just sits on top and gets tracked back in with the next step. Our mat works with depth – in three layers:
- Layer 1 – the scraping grid: On top is a flexible, robust grid fabric. Here you wipe your shoes. The trick: The dirt doesn't stay on top, but falls directly through the honeycomb structure. Your foot area always stays clean.
- Layer 2 – the water-repellent collection layer: Directly underneath is a water-repellent layer. It collects everything – from fine beach sand to damp forest floor. None of it ends up on the floor of your vehicle.
- Layer 3 – the anti-slip base: Safety first. So that you don't slip with the mat when wiping vigorously, the underside is equipped with a special anti-slip coating. It lies firmly – whether in the camper or on the step.
Just empty it, done
The best part is cleaning: Other mats require tedious shaking out or vacuuming. Ours has an easy-empty opening on the short side, between the grid and collection layer. Has enough sand collected? Simply lift the mat, hold it over a suitable spot, and empty the contents like from a bag. Clean.
Packaging with a second life
And something else new, that we're a little proud of: We make the packaging from recycled material. Cut-offs from surf sails, which were actually destined for the trash, get a new life with us and bring you the mat colorfully and safely home. This way, we completely save on shipping cartons. The best part: You can simply reuse the packaging afterwards and give it a new purpose yourself.
