Stuff Bubble on "MDR um 4": The Camper Check with the Car Pope

Stuff Bubble was a guest on "MDR um 4" – and got to show in the live broadcast how to turn a normal van into a camper in five minutes. Benni and Markus brought our complete range of inflatable camping furniture to the studio, and the discussion revolved around the very question that drives us: What camping innovations are currently on the market? Glad you're here – we'll briefly take you through how the appearance went.

What was the show about?

On June 16, 2026, the live broadcast "MDR um 4" revolved around camping and new ideas for on the go. The topic was presented by moderator Stephanie Müller-Spirra and car expert Andreas Kessler, who together introduced the Stuff Bubble product range. The base was a fully electric VW Caravelle – a normal van, not a finished motorhome conversion. That's exactly what we're about: You shouldn't have to convert your vehicle with heavy fixed installations to be able to camp with it.

How does a complete camper interior fit into a backpack?

The first "aha" moment came before anything was even set up. Stephanie Müller-Spirra was visibly surprised that all the camping furniture – kitchen, bed, and awnings – fit together in one large backpack. And honestly, it's always a great moment when you see it for the first time.

The color of the backpack also went down well. There's a reason for this that is particularly close to our hearts: We make it from leftover materials from the sailing industry. This makes the material sustainably used, and each piece looks a little different – every backpack is unique.

What can the world's first inflatable kitchen do?

Andreas Kessler inflated the inflatable kitchen live – to our knowledge, the world's first inflatable kitchen. Once inflated, it has everything you need for cooking and storage: a closed water circuit, a refrigerator, and storage space. So instead of lugging heavy furniture modules, you carry air with you until you need it.

Bed and awning in a practical test

Next up was the inflatable bed – including the inflatable bed frame or slatted base. Stephanie and Andreas tested it in the studio and were impressed by how comfortable it was. Finally, Andreas Kessler set up two awnings outside, which protected from the sun and the few raindrops that fell that day.

From a small van to a fully equipped camper, demonstrated completely – that was a lot of fun in the studio.
